Project Director & Marketing Strategist
Lynne White, a marketing and communications executive with extensive experience, is DeVa Communications’ marketing strategist and senior project director. Teaming with DeVa’s Founder and Creative Director, Debra Valencia, Lynne works hand in hand on projects to insure that clients receive top notch service and account management. Her talents and broad experience in writing and producing large scale national print campaigns in both the corporate and entertainment arenas allows DeVa to offer their clients full scale marketing services, including marketing and strategic planning; conceptual development, graphic design, print management and copywriting and editorial services. It is the philosophy of both Debra and Lynne that they provide their clients with a full service turn key operation, offering a team of professionals, including researchers, writers, editors, project managers, digital image specialists, photographers, illustrators, web programmers and industrial designers.
Lynne’s writing, broadcast experience, marketing skills and business background compliment Debra’s creative talent and keen business sense. Debra and Lynne, whose careers had lead them in different, yet similar directions, found that their business philosophies were the same – thinking strategically with forward thinking and delivering the highest quality of work in their field.
Lynne began her career at Coty Cosmetics, a division of Pfizer, Inc., following graduation from the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in English and History. At Coty, she managed a four state customer territory consisting of retail drug chain stores and mass merchandisers. As a product merchandising specialist, she worked in the field designing creative displays of Coty products to promote consumer sales and provided information to the marketing department as they developed product packaging and promotions. She gained invaluable expertise in the marketing and promotion of packaged goods products in retail environments. Using her writing skills she had honed in college, she also wrote and presented seminars around the country promoting Coty products to retailers.
As a promotion specialist and writer, she parlayed her experience into Hollywood, joining a prestigious public relations firm where she promoted television series and feature films. Lynne’s writing and production skills created numerous press kits and promotion materials for marketing and media. She continued in the field of public relations, joining Columbia Pictures Television in Burbank as a Studio Publicist and became an official member of the Publicists Guild of America. She was responsible for writing and producing all of the studio’s promotion materials for her television projects, including press kits, collateral materials, banners, posters, flyers, etc. She was also responsible for creating and producing large scale events to publicize her shows.
Moving down the street to NBC Television in Burbank, Lynne continued to promote television projects and talent as the Creative Services Manager of Comedy Series where she promoted such well-known sitcoms, including “Cheers,” “Family Ties,” “Night Court” and “The Golden Girls.” Drawing from her early experience in the retail industry, she was able to market her shows by writing and designing local promotions for 200+ NBC affiliates across the country using tie-ins with fast food, gas stations and convenience stores. She also produced broadcast on-air promos for her projects and produced large scale network events with major network talent.
Following her successful career in the entertainment field, she joined The Barrett Group, Inc., a sales promotion agency, as a marketing executive. With her wide range of experience, Lynne spearheaded numerous national marketing campaigns for large corporate clientele in the banking, oil and retail clothing fields. She wrote and produced brochures and internal communication and designed and produced collateral and point-of-sale materials.
Lynne has also produced award-winning videos for internal communication programs and has created and designed a number of sales incentive websites for national clients. Her extensive experience and varied background in the corporate, retail environment and entertainment industry provides great flexibility in managing current projects.
Lynne is an active member with the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Sports & Entertainment Committee and continues her interests through adult education classes.
